11,500 tonnes of Indian rice arrive at Chattogram Port

A vessel carrying 11,500 tonnes of parboiled rice from India has arrived at Chattogram Port under an open tender agreement. This delivery is part of Bangladesh’s plan to import 4.5 lakh tonnes in nine phases, with 2,85,769 tonnes received so far. Authorities have tested samples, and unloading preparations are underway, the Ministry of Food confirmed.

The ship, MV DDS Marina, docked as part of the government’s plan to import 4.5 lakh tonnes of rice from India in nine phases. So far, a total of 2,85,769 tonnes has been delivered under this arrangement, according to the statement.
Authorities have completed testing rice samples, and preparations for unloading are currently in progress. Necessary steps have been taken to ensure a smooth process, the ministry added.
The press release was signed by Imdad Islam, senior information officer and public relations officer of the Ministry of Food.
