There is a huge demand for chicken for animal fodder, green maize is a good alternative

Therefore, it is preferred to purchase green maize fodder from wherever available and convert it into chicken feed.
In Shirpur taluka, there has been a huge demand for the green maize crop for poultry. Due to this, maize farmers also get good income in just three to four months. The company’s murghas fetch Rs 6 to 7 thousand per ton, while the green maize from the farmers is pounded for Rs 2 thousand per ton. The cost of a bag for packing is Rs 600, and the cost of filling the corn fodder through a Kutti machine is Rs 900. To fill a ton of maize kutti costs the animal husbandry 3 thousand 500 rupees per ton.
Currently many farmer Maize crop has started to be taken for animal fodder. This crop yields three times a year. More than 25 to 30 tons of green maize fodder is produced per acre every three months. Farmers get a financial income of around one lakh in a year at low cost.
