USDA: Corn Use For Fuel Ethanol Production At 455 Million Bushels In November

The USDA recently released its Grain Crushings and Co-Products Production report for January, reporting that corn use for fuel ethanol production in November was down when compared to the previous month, but up when compared to November 2022.

Total corn consumed for alcohol and other uses was 505 million bushels in November, down 1% when compared to the previous month, but up 1% when compared to the same month of the previous year. November usage included 92.4% for alcohol and 7.6% for other purposes. 

Corn consumed for fuel alcohol production in November was at 455 million bushels, down 1% from October, but up 1% when compared to November of the previous year. Corn consumed for dry milling fuel production and wet milling fuel production was 92.1% and 7.9%, respectively. 

At dry mills, condensed distillers solubles production reached 122,984 tons in November, up from both 144,333 tons the previous month and 98,182 tons in November 2022. Corn oil production was at 188,008 tons, down from 189,584 tons in October, but up from 186,644 tons in November of the previous year. Distillers dried grains production was at 399,555t tons, down from 431,149 tons the previous month, but up from 381,114 tons in November 2022. Distillers dried grains with solubles production was at 1.8 million tons, down from 1.82 million metric tons in October, but up from 1.78 million tons in November of the previous year. Distillers wet grains production fell to 1.37 million tons, down from both 1.38 million tons in October and 1.46 million tons in November of the previous year. Modified distillers grains production was at 543,944 tons, up from 424,469 tons the previous month, but down from 558,128 tons during the same month of the previous year. 

At wet mills, corn germ meal production reached 61,690 tons, up from both 53,397 tons in October and 53,561 tons in November 2022. Corn gluten feed production fell to 242,462 tons, down from 265,908 tons the previous month and 277,379 tons in November of the previous year. Corn gluten meal production fell to 110,684 tons, down from 116,953 tons in October and 112,372 tons in November 2022. Wet corn gluten feed production fell to 202,534 tons, down from 212,424 tons the previous month and 203,891 tons in November of the previous year. 

At dry and wet mills, carbon dioxide captured fell to 198,060 tons, down from both 223,201 tons the previous month and 227,042 tons in November 2022.
