BJP-led government has helped sugarcane farmers recover crores of rupees in dues, says PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on March 10, stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government has assisted sugarcane farmers in recovering crores of rupees in dues over the past few years. He also mentioned that the BJP government has paid Rs. 2000 crore to 7 lakh farmers from Azamgarh. Furthermore, PM Modi highlighted that the remunerative price for sugarcane farmers has been raised by 8% this year, increasing from Rs 315 to Rs 340 per quintal.
PM Modi was speaking in Azamgarh after inaugurating infrastructure projects worth Rs 38,000 crore. He emphasised that his government is committed to fulfilling every resolution related to the welfare of farmers across the country.
“The BJP government has cleared the dues worth thousands of crores of sugarcane farmers. Today, sugarcane farmers are receiving the price of sugarcane at the right time,” he added.
Modi also reminded people about the previous government in Uttar Pradesh that had made sugarcane farmers cry as their money was either wasted or not received at all.
