Uttar Pradesh: Ramala sugar mill tops in crushing in cooperative sector
Bagpat: Ramala Cooperative Sugar Mill in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh has once again emerged as the top performer in the state in terms of sugarcane crushing for the 2023-24 season in Cooperative sector. The mill has also secured the second position in sugar recovery, reported Live Hindustan.
Established in 1979, the mill has been consistently achieving milestones. In 2019, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the mill’s capacity expansion project.
Currently, the mill is crushing 50,000 quintals of sugarcane per day, sourced from over 18,000 farmers in 53 villages of Shamli and Baghpat districts. The mill has so far crushed 59.9 lakh quintals of sugarcane against the target of 91 lakh quintals. The crushing season is expected to be completed by the end of May.
The mill has also generated 48,640 megawatts of electricity so far this season.
In a statement, Mill Manager Mahendra Pratap Singh said, “Ramala Cooperative Sugar Mill has consistently been performing well. In the current season, we have achieved the highest crushing in the state and the second-highest sugar recovery. This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team.”
It is worth noting that there are 23 cooperative sugar mills in Uttar Pradesh, of which 20 are operational. Ramala Cooperative Sugar Mill has been consistently outperforming its peers since 2019.
