EIA: Ethanol Production Up 3%, Stocks Down 1%, Exports Down 42%
U.S. fuel ethanol production increased by over 3% in the week ending April 26, with stocks down 1% and exports down 42%, per U.S. Energy Information Administration data. Production averaged 987,000 barrels per day, up 33,000 barrels/day from the previous week. Stocks fell to 25.488 million barrels, a decrease of 245,000 barrels, while exports averaged 78,000 barrels/day, down 56,000 barrels/day from the previous week, with no reported imports.
U.S. fuel ethanol production expanded by more than 3% the week ending April 26, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on May 1. Stocks of fuel ethanol were down 1% and exports were down 42%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 987,000 barrels per day the week ending April 26, up 33,000 barrels per day when compared to the 954,000 barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending April 26 was up 11,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 25.488 million barrels the week ending April 26, down 245,000 barrels when compared to the 25.733 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending April 26 were up 2.125 million barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 78,000 barrels per day the week ending April 26, down 56,000 barrels per day when compared to the 134,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. Data on weekly ethanol exports is not available for the corresponding week of 2023 as the EIA began reporting weekly data on fuel ethanol exports in June 2023. No fuel ethanol imports were reported for the week ending April 26.
