Ambala: Fire breaks out at ethanol plant

A tragic incident occurred in Jatwar village, Naraingarh, as a fire erupted in ethanol tanks, claiming the life of a 42-year-old employee, Neeraj. The fire started around 9 am, spreading rapidly to three units. Despite efforts, flames persisted until evening. Approximately 2.5-3 lakh litres of ethanol were stored in the tanks. The cause of the fire remains unknown. Firefighters deployed ten tenders to contain the blaze. The incident deeply saddens the community.

Ambala: A fire erupted in the ethanol tanks of company located in Jatwar village, Naraingarh in which a 42-year-old employee lost his life, reported Tribune India.

The deceased, identified as Neeraj from Uttar Pradesh, had been employed at the factory since 2013. The fire broke out around 9 am, starting from an ethanol storage tank and spreading rapidly to three additional units. Although it took several hours to contain the fire in the tanks, flames continued to be visible on the premises until evening.

According to the plant manager, employees heard a loud sound around 9 am, followed by the discovery of a fire at the storage tanks. An immediate alert was sounded, and the Fire Department was notified. Tragically, one employee lost his life in the incident. The tanks housed approximately 2.5-3 lakh litres of ethanol.

Fire officer Tarsem Rana said, “We were alerted around 9 am about a fire in the ethanol tanks at the Jatwar plant. Nearly 10 fire tenders were deployed to douse the fire. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined.”
