Fall armyworms damage to corn P10.8M – OPA

Fall armyworms have caused significant damage to corn in Negros Occidental, with losses totaling P10,832,037. The pests affected 753.38 hectares across 38 barangays in six local government units, impacting 1,117 farmers. The hardest hit areas include Himamaylan City (P3.1 million), Moises Padilla (P2.479 million), La Castellana (P1.668 million), Isabela (P1.639 million), Murcia (P1.496 million), and Hinoba-an (P439,485). The report does not yet account for damage in nine additional affected local government units.

Fall armyworms’ damage to corn in Negros Occidental has hit P10, 832,037, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist reported.

The damage covered 753.38 hectares in 38 barangays in six local government units from June 1 to July 4, affecting 1,117 farmers.

The damage to corn in Himamaylan City was P3.1 million, Moises Padilla – P2.479 million, La Castellana – P1.668 million, Isabela – P1.639 million, Murcia – P1.496 million and Hinoba-an P439,485.
