Hardeep Singh Puri and Bihar’s minister discuss opportunities for advancing compressed biogas initiative in state
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri met with Bihar’s Industries Minister Nitish Mishra and officials to advance the compressed biogas (CBG) initiative in Bihar. They discussed leveraging the state’s abundant feedstock and favorable policies to promote eco-friendly CBG. Large-scale CBG adoption in Bihar will provide a cleaner energy alternative, reduce fossil fuel dependence, and support environmental conservation. The meeting aimed to bring sustainable benefits to the state and its people, aligning with PM Narendra Modi’s vision.
Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, highlighted a positive development following a joint meeting with Bihar’s Industries Minister, Nitish Mishra, and officials from the Petroleum Ministry and oil sector PSUs. They deliberated on advancing the compressed biogas (CBG) initiative in Bihar.
Union Minister said, “In a joint meeting with the industries minister of Bihar, Nitish Mishra and officials of Petroleum Ministry & oil sector PSUs, we discussed the opportunities of taking forward the compressed biogas initiative in the state of Bihar.
“Considering the large amount of readily available feedstock in the state and the momentum provided by several policies by Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi & favourable policies being enunciated by state Govt of Bihar, we plan to provide the benefits of the eco-friendly fuel to the people of Bihar,” he further added.
The introduction of CBG at a large scale in Bihar promises several advantages for the state. It will provide a cleaner and more sustainable energy alternative, reducing dependence on traditional fossil fuels and contributing to environmental conservation.
