Phu My fertilizer firm boosts connections for fertile soil, sweet sugarcane

A promising deal has been reached between Petrovietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation (PVFCCo), Thanh Thanh Cong-Bien Hoa JSC (TTC AgriS), and scientists from the Central Highlands Research Center for Highland Soils, Fertilizers & Environment, aiming to improve soil for bumper sugarcane crops.

Honest farmers, dedicated production and business units and scientists full of enthusiasm have together embarked on a soil analysis project in sugarcane growing areas, carrying a belief that with continuous efforts, sugarcane will become fresher and sweeter, bringing more prosperous lives to farmers.

From diligent steps to miraculous change

With the cooperation of PVFCCo, TTC Agris and scientists from the research center, the project began with diligent steps taken by scientists in the vast sugarcane fields in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak province in the Central Highlands.

They carefully collected soil samples, like collecting every drop of farmers’ sweat, to take to a laboratory. There, detailed analysis was performed, with each soil sample telling a unique story about pH levels, organic matter content, nutritional elements such as N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, and cation exchange capacity (CEC). From these stories, scientists made appropriate fertilization recommendations, helping soil and plants harmonize and nourish each other.

From understanding soil, the vast sugarcane fields of TTC AgriS chose the European-quality product line of NPK Phu My 20-10-10 +TE suitable for the sugarcane there, and gained access to smart and accurate solutions to help save fertilizer, avoid waste, and protect the environment.

Sugarcane fields with poor soil initially had stunted crops like weeds, but thanks to special care, after a few crops, the soil became fertile and the sugarcane was lush and green. Healthy sugarcane reaches out to welcome the sun and is living proof of the project’s success. Productivity has increased, the sugarcane is sweeter, and the farmers, with bright smiles, can clearly feel this positive change.

Science and technology – key to sustainable agriculture

The tireless efforts of PVFCCo and the scientists have resulted in sweet crops. The soil analysis and Phu My fertilizer use project is not only a step forward in agricultural science, but also a symbol of faith and hope. Farmers, with calloused hands, now have a reliable companion, Phu My fertilizers, on their path to sustainable farming.

Stories from farmers are the clearest proof of the project’s success. Nguyen Van Bay, a farmer in Khanh Hoa, shared: “Previously, the sugarcane on my land was stunted and had low productivity. After visiting the PVFCCo factory, I had full confidence in the quality of NPK Phu My fertilizers. I and other villagers confidently started using Phu My fertilizers with guidance from the scientists. The land became more fertile, the sugarcane grew strongly, and productivity increased significantly.”

The project has not only improved sugarcane productivity but also opened up new directions for sustainable agriculture. The combination of modern technology and traditional knowledge has created an effective farming method that increases productivity and sugar volume and minimizes negative impacts on the environment and ensures a stable source of income for farmers.

MSc Luong Duc Tri from the Central Highlands Research Center for Highland Soils, Fertilizers & Environment said: “Soil nutrient analysis is an extremely important and indispensable step in modern agricultural cultivation. This helps determine accurately the nutritional needs of plants, thereby providing reasonable fertilization recommendations, helping to optimize plant growth and improve crop productivity.”

“The application of technology in agriculture helps save costs and enhances the competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products in the international market. This is an important step for Vietnamese agriculture to develop sustainably, meeting the increasing needs of domestic and foreign consumers,” he noted.

Bright future for Vietnamese agriculture

The cooperation between PVFCCo and TTC AgriS with research institutes is not only a success story in improving sugarcane productivity and quality, but also a clear demonstration of the importance of science and technology in promoting sustainable agriculture. The project revives dry sugarcane fields and opens up new opportunities for farmers.

The cooperation between PVFCCo and TTC AgriS helps create bumper sugarcane crops.

In the future, each sugarcane field will be not only a significant source of income but also a symbol of smart and sustainable agricultural development. These efforts will help farmers improve their quality of life and also contribute to the overall development of Vietnamese agriculture.

This partnership could open up new opportunities for similar projects with other crops. As science and technology continue to develop, the combination of scientific solutions and the dedication of farmers will become a strong driving force to improve the quality of Vietnamese agriculture, creating agricultural products meeting both domestic and global needs.

With the achievements from this project, Vietnam can absolutely hope for a brighter future. With the belief in sustainable development and the companionship of companies such as PVFCCo and TTC AgriS, Vietnamese agriculture can achieve success and prepare for future challenges and opportunities.

These efforts will be a solid foundation for sustainable development, improving farmers’ quality of life and bringing prosperity to the country’s agriculture sector.

Phu My Fertilizer is listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange as DPM, which closed Tuesday at VND35,450 ($1.4) per share.
