Pakistan : Sugar mills allotted another 500,000 tonnes export quota
LAHORE: The sugar mills have been allotted the export quota after approval by the Federal Cabinet’s Economic Coordination Committee. The quota has been allotted on the basis of quantity of the sugarcane crushed.The mills have been allowed to export a total of 500,000 ton more sugar, with 64 percent quota allotted to the sugar mills in Punjab, 30 percent to Sindh and 6% to mills located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The mills have been allowed to export a total of 500,000 ton more sugar, with 64 percent quota allotted to the sugar mills in Punjab, 30 percent to Sindh and 6% to mills located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the notification, 41 sugar mills of Punjab can export 320.000 metric tons of sugar. Hamza Sugar Mills of Rahim Yar Khan will export 21,642 tons followed by Makkah Sugar Mills 592 tons.
The mills from Sindh will export 150,000 tons of sugar, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa sugar mills will export 30,000 tons of sugar.
