90-day and Tun Pu rice foundation seeds can be purchased from Myanmar Rice Federation
The Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) announced on 21 October that high-quality rice foundation seeds of the 90-day and Tun Pu varieties are available for purchase at K 65,000 per basket. These can be ordered through provided contact numbers. MRF also mentioned its ongoing rehabilitation efforts for flood-affected farmers, distributing K 500 million worth of seeds and fertilizers, along with K 1250 million in interest-free loans for replanting through government cooperation. These initiatives aim to support agricultural recovery and the farmers’ livelihoods.
The Myanmar Rice Federation has announced that people can contact it and purchase the high-quality rice varieties of 90-day and Tun Pu foundation seeds at a rate of K 65,000 per basket.
It was announced on 21 October, and these seeds can be purchased by contacting 01-23011 28, 01-23011 29 and 09-420773222, the MRF said.
On 7 October, the MRF issued a statement regarding the conditions of the rehabilitation of farmers and the damaged agricultural businesses in flood-affected areas that it has been carrying out rebuilding tasks in cooperation with and donations from the associate members such as the Myanmar Rice Millers Association, the Myanmar Rice Growers Association, the Myanmar Rice and Paddy Traders Association and member companies.
According to these programmes, K 500 million was provided to donate rice bags, foundation seeds and fertilizers, and K 1250 million was provided as fixed investment capital In order to issue interest-free loans for replanting paddy to the farmers via the Steering Committee on Protection of Farmers’ Rights and Enhancement of their Benefits and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation. Moreover, it has been working together with governmental departments/organizations in the rehabilitation programs related to agriculture, it said.
