EIA: Ethanol production up 4%, stocks down slightly, exports down 24%

U.S. fuel ethanol production rose nearly 4% for the week ending October 18, 2024, averaging 1.081 million barrels per day, up from 1.042 million the previous week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Ethanol stocks decreased slightly to 22.223 million barrels, while exports dropped by 24% to 106,000 barrels per day. No ethanol imports were reported for the week.

U.S. fuel ethanol production was up nearly 4% the week ending Oct. 18, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Oct. 23. Stocks of fuel ethanol were down slightly and exports were down approximately 24%. 

Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.081 million barrels per day the week ending Oct. 18, up 39,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.042 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Oct. 18 was up 41,000 barrels per day. 

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 22.223 million barrels the week ending Oct. 18, down 52,000 barrels when compared to the 22.275 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Oct. 18 were up 825,000 barrels. 

Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 106,000 barrels per day the week ending Oct. 18, down 35,000 barrels per day when compared to the 140,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Oct. 18 were up 41,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending Oct. 18.
