Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls
Sugar stocks declined, with EID Parry (-2.90%), Uttam Sugar (-2.82%), and Dhampur Sugar (-2.79%) leading losses. The NSE Nifty50 fell 121.66 points to 23,411.05, while the BSE Sensex dropped 405.59 points to 77,174.72. Among Nifty gainers, Hero MotoCorp rose 4.36%, Hindalco 3.61%, and HDFC Bank 1.28%, with Coal India and Nestle India also posting modest gains.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 121.66 points at 23411.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 405.59 points at 77174.72 at around 10:28AM. Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 4.36%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 3.61%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 1.28%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.05%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 0.94%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 0.81%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 0.72%), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 0.69%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 0.65%) and Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 0.65%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 3.83%), Wipro Ltd.(down 3.53%), Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd.(down 3.23%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 3.23%), Infosys Ltd.(down 2.93%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.61%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.99%), NTPC Ltd.(down 1.87%), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.79%) and Axis Bank Ltd.(down 1.56%) were trading in the red.
