Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as Sensex drops
Sugar stocks traded lower on Thursday at 10:48 AM, with Ugar Sugar Works Ltd. (down 3.90%) and Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd. (down 3.78%) among the top losers. The NSE Nifty50 fell 201.1 points to 23,317.4, while the BSE Sensex dropped 547.5 points to 77,030.88. Meanwhile, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (up 1.39%) led the Nifty gainers.
NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 10:48AM Bannari Amman Sugars Ltd.(up 0.29%) were among the top gainers. Ugar Sugar Works Ltd.(down 3.90%), Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd.(down 3.78%), Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd.(down 3.54%), Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd.(down 3.32%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(down 3.17%), Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd.(down 3.14%), Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd.(down 2.99%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd.(down 2.71%), Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd.(down 2.28%) and KM Sugar Mills Ltd.(down 2.21%) were among the top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 201.1 points down at 23317.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 547.5 points at 77030.88 at around 10:48AM. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.39%), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.14%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 1.04%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.91%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.9%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 0.89%), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.81%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 0.67%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 0.58%) and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.26%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
