Solar Energy Corporation of India & H2Global partner on Green Hydrogen

Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI) has partnered with H2Global Stiftung to promote green hydrogen initiatives. The MoU, signed on November 19, focuses on knowledge sharing and joint tender design, aligning with India’s goal of becoming a global green hydrogen export hub. This collaboration strengthens India’s position in global hydrogen market dynamics and trade logistics.

Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI), under the Indian Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with H2Global Stiftung to establish a collaborative framework to promote green hydrogen initiatives. The agreement aims to enhance knowledge exchange on market-based mechanisms and foster cooperation between India and importing countries, contributing to the global advancement of the green hydrogen economy.

The MoU was signed by Sanjay Sharma, director (Solar), SECI, and Dr. Susana Moreira, executive director of H2Global, on November 19 in the presence of key dignitaries including Timo Bollerhey, CEO of HintCo, Markus Exenberger, executive director of H2Global Foundation, Prashant Kumar Singh, secretary of MNRE, Abhay Bhakare, mission director of NGHM, Dr. Prasad Chapekar, DS of MNRE, and K R Jyothi Lal, ACS Kerala, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy said in a press release.

This partnership offers India an opportunity to collaborate on joint tender design, particularly in structuring tenders aligned with India’s ambition to become a global hub for Green Hydrogen exports and its derivatives. The cooperation may provide insights into global hydrogen market dynamics, including trade logistics and stakeholder engagement, furthering India’s green hydrogen initiatives.
