TruAlt To Set Up One Of World’s Largest Sustainable Aviation Fuel Plants In India: Vijay Nirani At IEC 2024
Vijay Nirani, Founder of TruAlt Bioenergy, announced plans for one of the world’s largest sustainable aviation fuel plants in India, using agricultural and biomass waste. He highlighted the need for biofuels due to aviation’s high fuel-based emissions. TruAlt also plans to launch 17-18 Compressed Biogas plants. Nirani credited India’s National Biofuel Policy for enabling biofuel advancements and supporting farmers’ sustainable livelihoods.
Vijay Nirani, Founder and MD of TruAlt Bioenergy, said at the 10th edition of Times Network India Economic Conclave that India will soon have one of the world’s largest sustainable aviation fuel plants. Nirani mentioned that nearly 65% of the airline industry’s emissions come from fuel consumption. Since putting batteries in planes or using green hydrogen is impossible, alternative fuels such as biofuels are the only way to clean our skies.
TruAlt’s sustainable aviation fuel plant in India will use agricultural and other biomass waste to produce aviation biofuel. Nirani said that India has these resources available in abundance, yet currently, 70-80% of the gas we consume for our energy requirements is imported. Aside from setting up a sustainable aviation fuel plant in India, TruAlt will soon launch 17-18 Compressed Biogas plants in the country, too.
Nirani thanked the Indian government for its National Biofuel Policy. He said it allows companies like TruAlt to tap into India’s unlimited wealth of biofuel generation resources and create a sustainable lifestyle for its farmers.
