EIA: Ethanol production up 2%, stocks down slightly, exports up 33%
U.S. fuel ethanol production increased by over 2% the week ending Dec. 13, reaching an average of 1.103 million barrels per day, up by 25,000 barrels from the previous week. Stocks slightly decreased to 22.636 million barrels, and ethanol exports rose nearly 33%, averaging 163,000 barrels per day. However, exports were still down by 33,000 barrels compared to the same week last year. No fuel ethanol imports were reported.

U.S. fuel ethanol production expanded by more than 2% the week ending Dec. 13, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Dec. 18. Stocks of fuel ethanol were down slightly, and exports were up nearly 33%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.103 million barrels per day the week ending Dec. 13, up 25,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.078 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Dec. 13 was up 32,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell slightly to 22.636 million barrels the week ending Dec. 13, down 12,000 barrels when compared to the 22.648 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Dec. 13 were down 270,000 barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 163,000 barrels per day the week ending Dec. 13, up 40,000 barrels per day when compared to the 123,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Dec. 13 were down 33,000 barrels per day. No fuel ethanol imports were reported for the week ending Dec. 13.
