NTPC subsidiary NGEL inks MoU with Bihar government for green hydrogen and other projects
NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) signed an MoU with Bihar’s Industries Department at the “Bihar Business Connect 2024” summit. The partnership aims to develop renewable energy projects, including solar systems, battery storage, and green hydrogen mobility. Bihar’s government will facilitate permissions and approvals to ensure timely execution, advancing sustainable energy initiatives in the state.
NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Bihar’s Department of Industries during the “Bihar Business Connect 2024” Global Investors’ Summit in Patna on December 20, 2024.
The MoU was officially exchanged between Alok Ranjan Ghosh, Director (Industries), Government of Bihar, and Bimal Gopalachari, Addl. GM (Business Development), NGEL. The signing ceremony was attended by Bihar’s Industries Minister Nitish Mishra, Smt. Bandana Preyashi, Secretary (Industries), Government of Bihar, and senior officials from both NTPC and NGEL.
This strategic partnership outlines a roadmap for large-scale investments in renewable energy across Bihar, focusing on initiatives such as ground-mounted and floating solar power systems, battery energy storage solutions, and green hydrogen mobility projects. The Government of Bihar will support the initiatives by facilitating the required permissions, registrations, and approvals to ensure the timely execution of these projects.
