Government fixes 22.5 LMT monthly sugar quota for domestic sale in February 2025

The Indian Food Ministry has allocated a sugar quota of 22.5 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) for February 2025, slightly higher than the 22 LMT allocated in February 2024. January 2025 also saw a quota of 22.5 LMT. Experts believe this decision, along with positive market sentiment and export plans, will support the domestic sugar market.

In an announcement on January 29, the Food Ministry allocated a monthly sugar quota of 22.5 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) for February 2025, which is higher than the quantity allocated in February 2024.

In February 2024, the government had allocated a monthly sugar quota of 22 LMT for domestic sale.

For January 2025, the government allocated a sugar quota of 22.5 LMT.

According to market experts, positive sentiment will continue in the domestic market, and the export decision will also support the market.
