Boeing and HPCL have partnered to boost India’s sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) ecosystem. Their collaboration aims to scale SAF production, certify domestic SAF, and support policies for a robust SAF industry. The initiative will promote sustainability standards, training, and innovation, positioning India as a key player in global aviation decarbonization efforts.
Boeing and Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) have announced a strategic partnership aimed at advancing India’s sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) ecosystem, supporting the country’s environmental goals. The collaboration will focus on scaling SAF production in India, certifying domestically produced SAF, and advocating for policies to establish a robust SAF ecosystem in the region.
The two companies will work together to implement sustainability standards across the SAF supply chain, explore training opportunities, and share best practices for SAF development. This partnership seeks to drive innovation and accelerate the adoption of sustainable aviation practices.
Boeing India and South Asia President, Salil Gupte, emphasized the importance of SAF in decarbonizing aviation and highlighted the critical role of strategic partnerships in advancing SAF production. “We are committed to providing sustainable solutions for our customers, and collaborating with HPCL will help us contribute to India’s sustainability efforts,” he said.
Amit Garg, Director (Marketing) at HPCL, added, “As the aviation industry works to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the development and adoption of SAF is essential for achieving long-term sustainability in aviation.”
This partnership marks a significant step toward strengthening India’s position in global efforts to combat climate change through sustainable aviation solutions.
