A vessel carrying 10,500 metric tonnes of parboiled rice from India arrived at Chattogram Port. Authorities will begin unloading after testing samples. The Ministry of Food has ensured necessary measures for the process.
A consignment of 10,500 metric tonnes of parboiled rice arrived at Chattogram Port from India on Thursday morning.
Imdad Islam, senior information officer of the Ministry of Food, said the rice-laden Indian vessel “MV VCT OCEAN” anchored at outer anchorage of the Chattogram port on Thursday.
After testing the samples of rice kept on the ship, the unloading activities will start today and necessary measures have been taken in this regard, he said.
