Ethanol unit to be set up in Bihar’s Khagaria: Minister


A 50,000-tonne grain silo was inaugurated in Khagaria, Bihar, by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, enhancing scientific storage and reducing post-harvest losses. He announced an upcoming ethanol unit in the maize-rich district, aligning with PM Modi’s vision to modernize agriculture and double farmer incomes. The initiatives aim to boost Bihar’s rural economy and agri-logistics ecosystem.
Khagaria: Khagaria district in Bihar, known for its high maize production, will soon see the establishment of an ethanol unit, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Pralhad Joshi stated on Monday. The minister was speaking at the inauguration of a grain silo warehouse having a storage capacity of 50,000 tonnes in Khagaria district, reported Live Hindustan.
This state-of-the-art facility will provide scientific grain storage, reduce post-harvest losses and improve the overall agri-logistics ecosystem in the region, he said.
He said that it is a significant step towards fulfilling PM Modi’s vision of modernizing India’s agricultural infrastructure and doubling farmers’ income. Bihar, with its immense potential, stands at the forefront of this transformation. We remain committed to empowering its farmers and strengthening the rural economy.
