Madhya Pardesh : Congress submits memorandum to MP CM Mohan Yadav, demands to restart sugar mill in Sehore

Sehore – Congress spokesperson Pankaj Sharma urged Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to revive Sehore’s defunct sugar mill or repurpose the land for new industries. He argued this would create jobs and boost the economy. CM Yadav said revival was unfeasible but assured the government would consider all public interest demands seriously.
Sehore: During Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s visit to Sehore, Congress spokesperson Pankaj Sharma submitted a memorandum highlighting key public interest demands related to the city. A major point raised in the memorandum was the revival of the long-defunct sugar mill.
Speaking after submitting the memorandum, Sharma said that if restarting the sugar mill is not possible, the land should be cleared of encroachments and used to set up new industries. He emphasized that doing so could create thousands of job opportunities in Sehore and boost local economic activity.
In response to the demand, Chief Minister Yadav remarked that restarting the sugar mill would be unfeasible as sugarcane production in Sehore has ceased. Sharma countered, saying that reviving the mill could itself encourage farmers to resume sugarcane cultivation. Alternatively, he reiterated that the land should be used for industrial development.
CM Yadav listened to the concerns seriously and assured that the government would consider the issues raised, including the future of the sugar mill, and take appropriate steps in the public interest.
