Haryana: Ethanol plant of 90 KLPD capacity to be set up at cooperative sugar mill
A 90 KLPD ethanol plant will be set up at Panipat Cooperative Sugar Mill after finalisation of its DPR. At a meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, 13 agenda items were approved, including employee advances, compassionate assistance, equipment purchases for 2025–26, security contracts, and facility upgrades. Officials were instructed to ensure timely, transparent execution.
Panipat, Haryana: A 90 KLPD (kilolitre per day) ethanol plant will be established at the Cooperative Sugar Mill, and its detailed project report has been finalised. Along with this, 13 agenda items related to the mill were also approved, reports Amar Ujala.
The meeting of the Panipat Cooperative Sugar Mill was held on Monday at the district secretariat auditorium under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Virendra Kumar Dahiya. During the meeting, all 13 agenda points were discussed in detail. Issuing instructions to officials from various departments, the Deputy Commissioner directed that timely action must be ensured on every proposal.
A detailed discussion was held on the DPR for the new 90 KLPD ethanol plant. In addition, proposals were taken up to provide ₹13,000 as an interest-free festive advance to Group-D employees working in the mill and distillery unit, as per the instructions of the State government, and to offer compassionate assistance to the dependents of daily-wage employees in case of death during service, in accordance with the existing policy.
Proposals for the 2025–26 season were also discussed, including the purchase of small PP bags (10 kg and 20 kg), flow meters, floating air blowers, water-cooled blowers, and arrangements for bagasse transportation. Other agenda items included assigning security work of the old sugar mill and cane yard on contract, construction of a cooperative bank building and sugar sale centre, relocation of the Vita booth, and inviting tenders for sludge sales under the additional agenda.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Managing Director instructed all departments to complete the proposed work with transparency and efficiency so that the mill can operate smoothly in the upcoming crushing season. Officials and employees of the sugar mill were present on the occasion.
