Ukraine’s corn harvest is approaching the level forecasted by the USDA
Ukraine harvested 28.8 million tonnes of corn by January 15, covering 92% of the sown area, with yields at 7.17 tonnes per hectare. Output is nearing the USDA’s 29 million tonne forecast for 2025/26, which was revised lower in December and maintained in January.
As of January 15, 28.8 million tons of corn were harvested in Ukraine. This is evidenced by data from the Ministry of Economy.
Farmers have threshed 4 million hectares of land or 92%. The gross harvest is approaching the USDA forecast for the corn harvest in Ukraine — 29 million tons. Another 372.5 thousand hectares of sown area remain to be harvested.
The corn yield in the country is currently 7.17 tons/hectare.
In a December report, USDA analysts lowered the forecast for the corn harvest in Ukraine in 2025/26 MY by 3 million tons to 29 million tons. In January, they left their forecast unchanged.
