Pakistan’s rice exports to China crossed $62.26 million in 2025, with shipments of nearly 158 million kg led by semi- or wholly milled rice. Guangdong and Beijing emerged as top markets, while demand for broken rice supported food processing needs across multiple Chinese provinces.

BEIJING, Jan 28 (APP):Pakistan’s rice exports to China surpassed $62.26 million in 2025, underpinned by strong shipments of semi- or wholly milled rice and steady demand for broken rice across multiple Chinese provinces, according to the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China’s latest figures.

The Chinese Customs data showed that in volume terms, Pakistan exported a total of about 157.74 million kilograms of rice to China in 2025. The bulk of shipments, 110.10 million kilograms, comprised semi- or wholly milled rice (HS 10063020), which alone generated $46.86 million in export earnings. Broken rice categories together accounted for 47.63 million kilograms, contributing the remaining value.

Guangdong Province emerged as the largest destination for Pakistani rice, importing around 61.8 million kilograms across milled and broken rice categories, with a combined value exceeding $26 million. Imports included large volumes of semi- or wholly milled rice as well as both types of broken rice used in food processing and industrial applications.

Beijing ranked as the second-largest market, importing about 42.93 million kilograms of semi- or wholly milled rice valued at $15.48 million, reflecting robust demand in China’s capital for consumer-grade rice.

Other important destinations included Anhui, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu, Sichuan, and Heilongjiang, highlighting the wide geographic spread of Pakistani rice across China’s domestic market.
