Maharashtra : Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Limited (“DBSIL”)  to set up CBG project at Kolhapur plant

Dalmia Bharat Sugar approved a ₹58-crore, 13 TPD compressed biogas project at its Kolhapur plant. Using spent wash as feedstock, the waste-to-energy project supports sustainability goals. It will be completed in nine months and funded through a debt-equity mix.

Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Limited (“DBSIL”) board has approved the setting up of a 13 TPD compressed biogas (CBG) project at its Kolhapur plant, the company said in an exchange filing. 

The project will convert spent wash, a distillation byproduct, into compressed biogas, indicating the company’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions and waste-to-energy technologies. The plant will cost around Rs 58 crore. The project is expected to be completed within nine months and will be funded through a mix of debt and equity.

 Spent wash, a liquid byproduct generated during the distillation process, will serve as the primary feedstock for biogas production.
