EIA weekly data: ethanol production up 3%, stocks down 3%, exports down 13%

U.S. fuel ethanol production rose nearly 3% to 1.126 million barrels per day for the week ending March 6. However, ethanol stocks declined 3% to 25.58 million barrels and exports dropped 13%. Despite the weekly fall in exports, production remained higher compared to the same period last year.

U.S. fuel ethanol production expanded by nearly 3% the week ending March 6, according to data released by the U.S Energy Information Administration on March 11. Stocks of fuel ethanol were down 3% and exports fell by 13%. 

U.S. fuel ethanol production averaged 1.126 million barrels per day the week ending March 6, up 31,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.095 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending March 6 was up 64,000 barrels per day. 

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 25.58 million barrels the week ending March 6, down 757,000 barrels when compared to the 26.337 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending March 6 were down 1.796 million barrels. 

Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 188,000 barrels per day the week ending March 6, down 29,000 barrels per day when compared to the 217,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending March 6 were up 26,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending March 6.
