Kazakhstan exports 11 mln tons of grain and flour in grain equivalent
Kazakhstan exported 11.1 million tonnes of grain and flour during MY 2025/26, up 13% year-on-year. Exports to Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan rose strongly, supported by stable demand, improved logistics, and government support measures.
Kazakhstan exported 11.1 million tonnes of grain and flour in grain equivalent during the MY 2025/26. According to Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, shipments between September 2025 and April 2026 increased by 13% compared to the same period last season, when exports totaled 9.8 million tonnes.
The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan said the export growth was supported by stable demand for agricultural products in traditional markets, as well as efficient logistics and state support measures for the sector. Officials noted that the positive trend confirms Kazakhstan’s strengthening position among the leading grain exporters in the region.
Uzbekistan remained the largest export destination for Kazakh grain. Shipments to the country rose by 13.8%, from 8.2 million tonnes to 9.3 million tonnes. Significant growth was also recorded in exports to Kyrgyzstan, which increased 1.6 times from 278 thousand tonnes to 440 thousand tonnes.
Exports to Afghanistan also showed strong growth. Grain and flour supplies increased by 51% to 1.8 million tonnes, compared to 1.2 million tonnes a year earlier. Deliveries to Turkmenistan rose 1.5 times, from 123 thousand tonnes to 183 thousand tonnes.
Kazakhstan’s Agriculture Ministry said the country continues to expand export geography, develop transport and logistics infrastructure, and increase the added value of agricultural products. These measures are expected to strengthen the competitiveness of Kazakh grain on international markets and support further export growth.
