Sugar exports from Ukraine exceeded 500 thsd tons: half went to the Middle East
Ukraine exported 504,000 tonnes of sugar during the first nine months of the 2025/26 marketing year. The main destinations were Lebanon (21%), the EU (18%), Syria (14%) and Uzbekistan (12%). Middle Eastern countries accounted for 50% of total exports, reinforcing the region’s importance for Ukrainian sugar producers.
Ukraine exported 504 thousand tons of sugar in the 9 months of the MY 2025/26.
This was reported by the National Sugar Association “Ukrsugar”.
The main export destinations were:
- Lebanon – 21% of the total export volume;
- EU – 18%;
- Syria – 14%;
- Uzbekistan – 12%.
“In general, the Middle East countries provided 50% of Ukrainian sugar exports during the first three quarters of the 2025/26 marketing year, strengthening the role of the region as a key sales market for Ukrainian producers,” the association noted.
