Haryana approves Rs 200 crore multi-feed ethanol plant at Panipat sugar mill
Haryana approved a ₹200 crore multi-feed ethanol plant at Panipat Sugar Mill with 90 KLPD capacity. The project, now awaiting tendering approval, is targeted for completion by 2027–28 and supports the state’s efforts to expand industrial and agro-based infrastructure.
Chandigarh: Haryana has approved the establishment of a new multi-feed ethanol plant at Panipat Sugar Mill as part of its push to strengthen industrial and agro-based infrastructure in the state.
The project was reviewed during a high-level ‘Pragati’ meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini at the Haryana Civil Secretariat, where progress of major development projects worth more than Rs 75 crore across the state was assessed, Udaipur Times reported.
Officials informed the Chief Minister that the proposed ethanol facility, to be developed under the Cooperation Department, will have a production capacity of 90 KLPD and involve an estimated investment of Rs 200 crore.
According to officials, approval for the project has already been granted and the proposal is now being placed before the High-Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) to complete the tendering process.
The ethanol plant is expected to be completed during the 2027–28 financial year.
During the review meeting, the Chief Minister directed departments to ensure timely execution of all approved projects and stressed that delays at any stage would not be accepted.
Apart from the ethanol project, the meeting reviewed progress on several major infrastructure and public sector initiatives across healthcare, education, disaster management and industrial development.
Senior state officials, including Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi and other administrative heads, were present during the review meeting.
