USDA: US ethanol exports top 206 million gallons in June

U.S. ethanol exports rose to 206.06 million gallons in June, up 19% year-on-year, while distillers grains exports increased 22% to 1.1 million tonnes. Higher shipments boosted first-half export values, with Canada and Mexico remaining the leading destinations.

The U.S. exported 206.06 million gallons of ethanol and 1.1 million metric tons of distillers grains in June, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on Aug. 4. Exports of both products were up from the previous month and June 2025.

The 206.08 million gallons of ethanol exported in June was up nearly 9% when compared to the previous month and up more than 19% when compared to June 2025.

The U.S. exported ethanol to more than three dozen countries in June. Canada was the top destination for U.S. ethanol exports at 77.97 million gallons, followed by the Netherlands at 44.82 million gallons and Colombia at 18.88 million gallons.

The value of U.S. ethanol exports in June reached $496.96 million, up 10% when compared to May and up 31% when compared to June of last year.

Total U.S. ethanol exports for the first six month of 2026 reached 1.21 billion gallons at a value of $2.76 billion, compared to 1.07 billion gallons exported during the same period of 2025 at a value of $2.28 billion.

The 1.1 million metric tons of distillers grains exported in June was up nearly 2% when compared to the previous month and up 22% when compared to June 2025.

The U.S. exported distiller grains to approximately 34 countries in June. Mexico was the top destination for U.S. distiller grains exports at 231,951 metric tons, followed by Indonesia at 166,925 metric tons and Vietnam at 134,284 metric tons.

The value of U.S. distillers grains exports reached $293.63 million in June, up 8% when compared to May and up nearly 36% when compared to June 2025.

Total distiller grains exports for the first half of the year reached 6.16 million metric tons at a value of $1.55 billion, compared to 5.35 million metric tons exported during the same period of 202 at a value of $1.29 billion.
