Survey of sugarcane area has been done
Officers of 22 sugar mills of the division and officers of the sugarcane department have formed joint teams and got the sugarcane area surveyed in the five districts. The rakba (area) of both sugarcane plant and paddy has increased in the survey. Farmers are making this crop their first choice even after raising many questions regarding sugarcane payment. The continuous improvement in sugarcane payment is believed to be the reason behind this.
