EIA weekly data: Ethanol production up 2%, stocks up slightly, exports up 26%
U.S. fuel ethanol production rose more than 2% to 1.112 million barrels per day in the week ending August 21. Ethanol stocks increased slightly to 25.206 million barrels, while exports jumped 26% week-on-week to 162,000 barrels per day, with no imports reported.
U.S. fuel ethanol production expanded by more than 2% the week ending Aug. 21, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Aug. 26. Ethanol stocks were up slightly while exports were up 26%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.112 million barrels per day the week ending Aug. 21, up 23,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.089 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Aug. 21 was up 42,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol reached 25.206 million barrels the week ending Aug. 21, up 85,000 barrels when compared to the 25.121 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Aug. 21 were up 2.657 million barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol reached 162,000 barrels per day the week ending Aug. 21, up 33,000 barrel per day when compared to the 129,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Aug. 21 were up 41,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending Aug. 21.
