DFPD asks sugar mills to submit revised August 20-31 sales data by September 7
India’s DFPD has directed sugar mills to submit mill-wise sugar sales details for August 20–31, 2026, in a revised format. Mills must report plant code, GST number, sale date, quantity dispatched and average sale rate in Excel by September 7. ISMA and NFCSF have been asked to ensure compliance.
The Directorate of Sugar & Vegetable Oils under the Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) has asked all sugar mills to furnish mill-wise details of sugar sold between August 20 and 31, 2026, in a revised format, according to a letter issued to chief executive officers and managing directors of sugar mills on September 3, 2026.
The communication, signed by DFPD Director Arvind Kumar Rawat, modifies the department’s earlier letter of even number, which had sought detailed sales information from mills without specifying a fixed format.
As per the revised requirement, mills have been asked to report the sugar mill or plant code, mill GST number, date of sale, total quantity sold or dispatched in quintals, and the average sale rate per quintal in rupees for the specified period.
The data is required to be furnished in excel format to the email ID sugarcontrol-fpd@gov.in, the letter said. Mills have been asked to submit the information by September 7, 2026.
The department has also marked a copy of the letter to the Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA) and the National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories (NFCSF), asking the two industry bodies to instruct all sugar mills to provide the requisite information within the stipulated deadline without fail.
