DGFT extends TRQ surrender deadline for raw sugar imports to September 30

DGFT has extended the deadline for surrendering unutilised allocations under the 10-lakh-tonne raw sugar TRQ to September 30, 2026. Quota holders must pay 0.5% of the CIF value of surrendered quantities, while other existing conditions remain unchanged.

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has extended the timeline for surrendering unutilised Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) allocated for the import of 10 lakh tonnes of raw sugar, giving quota holders until September 30, 2026 to return unused allocations.

TRQ holders may surrender any unutilised quantity allocated under the scheme up to September 30, 2026, subject to payment of an amount equivalent to 0.5 per cent of the Cost, Insurance and Freight (CIF) value of the surrendered quantity, as prescribed under the existing modalities, according to the notice.

All other terms and conditions of the August 20 notice will remain unchanged, the notice said.
