Russia raises wheat exports to Uzbekistan almost 16‑fold in 2026
Russia exported over 71,000 tonnes of wheat worth $12.6 million to Uzbekistan during January–August 2026, with volumes up 15.9-fold and value 13.4-fold year-on-year. August accounted for more than 65,000 tonnes, marking the highest monthly shipment during the period and exceeding the previous 2022 record.
Russia exported more than 71,000 tonnes of wheat worth over US$12.6 million to Uzbekistan in January–August 2026. This was reported by the federal centre Agroexport, a TV BRICS partner.
Compared with the same period in 2025, exports increased 15.9-fold in volume terms and 13.4-fold in value terms.
The bulk of wheat shipments came in August, when Uzbekistan received more than 65,000 tonnes of wheat from Russia. The final month of summer recorded the highest monthly shipment volume in the entire period of observation. The previous record was set in September 2022 and stood at 11,000 tonnes.
It was previously reported that Russia ranked among Uzbekistan’s largest trading partners in the first half of 2026. Trade turnover from January to June reached US$7 billion. China and Kazakhstan were also among the republic’s three key trading partners.
