EIA weekly data: Ethanol production up 2%, stocks down 3%, exports up 16%

U.S. fuel ethanol production fell 2% to 1.007 million barrels per day for the week ending September 25, while stocks dropped over 3% to 23.865 million barrels, their lowest level since early 2026. Ethanol exports rose 16% to 142,000 barrels per day, with no imports reported.

U.S. fuel ethanol production fell by 2% the week ending Sept. 25, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Sept. 30. Stocks of fuel ethanol fell more than 3% to the lowest levels since the start of 2026. Exports were up 16%.

Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.007 million barrels per day the week ending Sept. 25, down 21,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.028 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Sept. 25 was up 12,000 barrels per day.

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 23.865 million barrels the week ending Sept. 25, down 818,000 barrels when compared to the 24.683 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Sept. 25 were up 1.101 million barrels.

Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 142,000 barrels per day the week ending Sept. 25, up 20,000 barrels per day when compared to 122,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Sept. 25 were up 54,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending Sept.
