SEA, Mozambique’s Nampula sign oilseed corridor pact as India eyes Africa for edible oil
SEA and Mozambique’s Nampula Province signed a Statement of Interest to explore a sustainable oilseed and vegetable oil corridor linking Nampula with India. Solidaridad Network Asia and Solidaridad Southern Africa joined as partners, focusing on fair farmer terms and preventing forest clearance. The agreement was signed at Globoil India 2026 in Mumbai.
The Solvent Extractors’ Association of India (SEA) and the Government of Nampula Province in northern Mozambique have signed a ‘Statement of Interest’ to explore a sustainable oilseed and vegetable oil corridor between Nampula and the Indian market. Two sustainability organisations, Solidaridad Network Asia and Solidaridad Southern Africa, joined as partners to make sure the corridor is built on fair terms for farmers and without clearing forests.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of Globoil India 2026 in Mumbai on Wednesday.
