London white sugar declined 6.20 to 554.90 and NY raw sugar fell 0.28 to 20.85. Brent crude climbed to $101.84 per barrel, while Indian equities posted strong gains with the BSE Sensex advancing 1,533.72 points to 74,315.61 and the Nifty 50 surging 374.65 points to 22,997.32.
