30,000 tonnes of sugarcane crushed in Mysugar factory

Mandya: Agriculture minister N Chaluvarayaswamy, who is also Mandya district minister, on Saturday inspected the Mysugar factory. The sugar factory faced challenges following power and water supply issues as it disrupted the operations last week.

He said, “Initially 1,500 tonnes of sugarcane were crushed every day and it has been increasing day by day. So far the factory has crushed 30,000 tones of sugarcane and farmers are being paid money on time.”

“The government is developing the factory as per the wishes of the public and farmers. It would not stop functioning at any cost. There are minor issues in the factory and they will be addressed immediately and also, will ensure that the factory functions smoothly without any hassles. Farmers should not pay attention to any rumours,” he stated.

Chaluvarayaswamy said the district superintendent of police has been directed to initiate legal action against rumour-mongers with regard to the functioning of the factory.

High demand for $30 and M30 good grade sugar’ Giving details of the products, the minister said two good grades of sugar – $30 and M30 are produced in the factory and there is demand for the products in the market. “So far about 12,000 quintals of sugar have been produced and it will be exported soon. The price will be nominal,” the minister stated MLAs Ravikumar Ganiga and Ramesh Babu Bandisiddegowda and factory senior officers were present.
