SAO PAULO, Aug 16 (Reuters) – Brazil is studying some $30 billion in projects looking to produce low-carbon hydrogen, an official from the country’s mines and energy ministry said on Wednesday, estimating the country has a potential output of 1.8 billion metric tons.

The South American country’s energetic transition planning secretary Thiago Barral said during an event that this potential would come from renewable sources such as wind, solar, as well as the carbon-capturing of fossil fuel emissions.
