Argentina could set record for grain and oilseed exports in MY 2025/26

Argentina is projected to reach a record 105.1 million tonnes of grain and processed grain exports in 2025/26, surpassing previous highs. Corn is expected to make up 62% of grain exports, while soybeans dominate oils and meal exports. Despite high volumes, international price declines may keep foreign exchange earnings around $34.8 billion.

According to analysts at the Rosario Grain Exchange, Argentina could reach a record level of grain and processed grain exports in the MY 2025/26 – 105.1 million tonnes. This figure would exceed the previous season’s 101.6 million tonnes and the maximum of 104.1 million tonnes set in 2018/19, Reuters reports.

Grain and oilseed exports are expected to total 64.7 million tonnes, with corn accounting for 62%. At the same time, exports of oils and meal are estimated at 40.4 million tonnes, with soybeans accounting for the bulk of the export, confirming Argentina’s leading role in the global soybean market.

Despite a high harvest of 146.4 million tons, the decline in prices on the international market will result in foreign exchange earnings remaining at the previous season’s level of about $34.8 billion. This indicates a stable economic benefit for the country even in conditions of market price fluctuations.
