Argentina extends tax breaks for wheat exports but excludes soybeans and corn

Argentina will extend tax breaks on wheat and barley exports until March 2026, Economy Minister Luis Caputo announced. However, the incentives will not apply to other key crops like soybeans, corn, sunflower, and sorghum. Farmers had pushed for broader relief, but the government limited support to these two grains to aid competitiveness without wider fiscal impact.

Argentina will extend tax breaks for wheat and barley exports until March next year, Economy Minister Luis Caputo said on Tuesday, while ruling out additional breaks for other key crops, Reuters reported.

Farmers and export companies have been pushing for the extension of the break, but Caputo said it would not apply to soybeans, corn, sunseed, sorghum or their derivatives.
