Banswara News : Ganja cultivation busted under the guise of maize crop, 94 kg of ganja seized and case registered


Sadar police station has seized 94 kg of green cannabis plants hidden under maize crops in Samaria village. The plants were discovered in fields owned by Hemchand and Ishwar, who have been charged under the NDPS Act. The recovery was part of a special anti-drug campaign led by District SP Harshvardhan Agarwala. Additionally, illegal liquor was seized in Chidiyawasa village.
The Sadar police station has recovered 94 kg of green cannabis plants sown in two fields under the cover of maize crop in Subhash Nagar of Samaria village. A case has been registered against both the accused under the NDPS Act.
The Sadar police station of the district has busted the cultivation of ganja under the cover of maize crop in Subhash Nagar of Samaria village. Police have recovered a total of 94 kg of ganja from two different fields.
Sadar police station officer Budhram Bishnoi said that a special campaign is being run by District Superintendent of Police Harshvardhan Agarwala against drug trafficking under the NDPS Act. Under this, a special team of Sadar police station has been formed under the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police Rajesh Bhardwaj and Deputy Superintendent Gopichand Meena.
He told that on Thursday, information was received from the informer that Hemchand son of Hakru Maida and Ishwar son of Kanji Maida have sown green hemp plants in the wheat and maize crop in their field in Subhash Nagar of Samaria village, on which flowers have bloomed, on which the team reached the spot and took action. In the presence of the Sarpanch and Patwari of the Gram Panchayat, 32 kg 315 grams of green hemp plants were seized from Hemchand’s field and 62 kg 230 grams of green hemp plants were seized from Ishwar’s field. Separate cases have been registered against both of them under the NDPS Act and investigation is being done.
In another action, Sadar police station recovered 18 cartons of liquor from the house of Pawan son of Amar Kalal in Chidiyawasa village. He had stored illegal liquor in the room behind the house. Police have registered a case under the Excise Act.
