BASF launches Made in India insecticide for global markets rice farmers

BASF has launched two new crop protection products—Valexio and Mibelya—to help Indian rice farmers boost yields. Valexio, developed largely in India, targets global markets. These solutions address key rice threats like sheath blight and brown plant hoppers, which can cause 25–50% yield loss if not controlled, said BASF India’s Agri Business Director.

Sheath blight, which is widely spread across, hits the crop at the maximum tillering stage. If it is not controlled in time, it can incur losses ranging from 25 per cent to 50 per cent,” Giridhar Ranuva, Business Director (Agricultural Solutions) of BASF India, said.
