Bihar plans major industrial expansion with 25 new sugar mills and potential semiconductor manufacturing, targeting Rs 50 lakh crore investment. Industries Minister Dilip Jaiswal said districts with high sugarcane output will be prioritised. The government aims to boost jobs through micro, small and agro-linked industries while strengthening law, development and regional economic growth.

Purnea: Bihar is preparing for a major industrial expansion with plans to establish 25 new sugar mills and attract investments worth Rs 50 lakh crore, State BJP President and Industries Minister Dr. Dilip Jaiswal said on Wednesday. He was speaking to journalists at the BJP district office in Purnea.

Jaiswal said districts with significant sugarcane cultivation will be prioritised for the new mills. Alongside, the state government is also exploring the possibility of setting up a semiconductor manufacturing unit in Bihar, he added.

He said the government aims to build a “network of industries” across Bihar, creating large-scale employment in both urban and rural regions. “The focus is not only on big industries. We are working to fulfil the vision of establishing industries in every household and ensuring jobs for everyone,” Jaiswal said. Micro, small and indigenous industries will receive dedicated support from the government, he added.

Commenting on the recent election results, the BJP leader said the people of Bihar had once again given the NDA a strong mandate. “Despite the misinformation spread by opposition parties, the massive majority shows the people’s trust in the leadership and guarantees of Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar,” he said, expressing gratitude to voters.

A review meeting was also held with party workers from Bhagalpur, Kosi and the districts under Purnea division. A resolution was passed to work more cohesively in the coming months. Jaiswal praised BJP workers for their dedication during the election campaign.

He said the “double-engine government” is committed to establishing rule of law, making Bihar crime-free and accelerating job creation through skill development and agriculture-linked industries.

Sadar MLA Vijay Khemka, BJP District President Manoj Singh and other senior party functionaries were present during the interaction.
