BJP-backed candidates won 148 out of 151 cane panel seats: Chaudhary

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh BJP president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary declared a sweeping victory for the party in the Cooperative Sugarcane Development Committee and Sugar Mill Association elections.Speaking at the BJP state headquarters, Chaudhary revealed that BJP-backed candidates won 148 out of 151 seats in the sugarcane committee elections, marking the party’s largest-ever triumph in these polls.
He credited the BJP’s pro-farmer policies at both the central and state levels, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, for this significant win.He emphasised that farmers, particularly sugarcane growers, have shown their support for the BJP’s efforts to improve their welfare. The election, held after a nine-year hiatus, saw unprecedented success for BJP candidates across the state, including in key districts like Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, and Pilibhit.Chaudhary further claimed that in the Cooperative Sugar Mill Association elections, the BJP bagged all 25 seats, highlighting that the Yogi government has paid over Rs 2 lakh crore to sugarcane farmers, including clearing pending dues from previous administrations. He also noted recent increases in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for key Rabi crops as proof of the Modi government’s commitment to farmers.
Responding to media queries, Chaudhary accused the Samajwadi Party and Congress of trying to delay the Milkipur assembly by-election, citing their fear of losing. He expressed gratitude to sugarcane farmers and BJP workers for their tireless efforts in securing this overwhelming victory.
