BPCL’s Bargarh Bio-Ethanol refinery project is in the final stages of construction

BPCL’s Integrated 1G & 2G Bio-Ethanol refinery project in Bargarh, a cornerstone of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative in biofuels, nears completion. The plant, expected to process 100 Kl/day for both 1G and 2G ethanol, received praise from a Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas delegation led by Shyam Lal, Kishor Kumar Sahu, and BK Tripathy. Their visit included a tree plantation ceremony and site inspection, emphasizing BPCL’s dedication to sustainable energy solutions and timely project delivery.

BPCL’s ambitious Integrated 1G & 2G Bio-Ethanol refinery project at Bargarh is set to be the first integrated ethanol plant contributing to the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative in biofuel.

A recent visit by a delegation from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) to the refinery, now nearing completion, underscored its significance. This pioneering project will deliver a throughput of 100 Kl/day (each for 1G & 2G).

The delegation, including Shyam Lal, Senior Statistical Officer MoPNG; Kishor Kumar Sahu, Technical Officer MoPNG; and BK Tripathy, Technical Officer MoPNG, lauded the progress made during their visit. They provided valuable feedback and inspired the team to fast-track the project’s completion. A tree plantation ceremony was arranged for the esteemed dignitaries, followed by a comprehensive site visit to review the status of various units of the 2G Bio-Ethanol refinery.

BPCL remains steadfast in its commitment to deliver the project with utmost quality and within the stipulated timeline, furthering their mission to promote sustainable energy solutions for the nation.
